Hi I'm new to the forums! I just got a IJ last week on thursday. I can see that he's become quite accustomed to his tank. But whenever he sees me he dares not to move. Also, when i go near him, he sort of flinches and moves away! So should i just led him be for the next few weeks or what else should i do?
Also he just started shedding and got a scar on his head due to it. Should i bring him to the vet or apply any medication. This will just freak him out more though!
IJ Spooked!

Welcome
Yep, thats normal new bluey behavior. He sees you as a predator and so by not moving, hes hoping you wont notice him! Just give him another two weeks or so and he should realise that you have no intention of eating him
A scar? Would you have any photos? While I dont think Id help much, it would definitely help one of the more experienced members to help.

alright. here's another picture. still blurry. but its much nearer. the aspen seems to be stucked in the wound. Do you think it will cause an infection or just drop off later?
Also, if you need another clearer picture, i'll try to get one. Maybe I'll borrow my friend's camera!
Also he's become more active and curious after shedding his skin!

Yes, they do become more active and social after shedding. I've had my BTS for almost 12 years and pre-shed he is still skittish and secretive. It's like a one to two week PMS for BT's.

Hmmm, that does look curious.
I hope someone with more experience comes on to tell you what to do.
My thought is, if it's not something that's liquid-filled, or puss under there, and as long as it doesn't turn pink or red, I would just wait for his next shed and see what happens.
Another thought I got was, could it be eggs from some mite or other bug?
