Nippy and Lutea

Postby Lea » Thu Aug 25, 2011 7:04 pm

Nippy is just adorable and totally gorgeous! He lives with Estrella since his girl, Lizzie, died last year. He seemed to pine himself away to nothing and refused to eat, but as soon as he started bunking down with the little midget, Estrella, he took on a new attitude, wolfing food down as if he were expecting a world famine and toughening up for the shingleback's version of the Iron Man contest! He looks fabulous. Apart from sharing a few mites with his friend, he is a show specimen of a shingle-male.

This is Lutea. She's an Onkaparinga region, SA shingleback. Her name is the Latin for "yellow", which seem appropriate for her stunning yellow flanks.

And Nippy with Lutea ... not sure whether the attraction is there, but they do look a cute couple.

Very nice Lea, good to see them up and about. Some warm weather we have been having assume you have had the same over there.

Good to see you are getting some pre-Spring activity. My boy announced the premature start of Spring this week with a plug display. :)

All the pics are terrific but the last two are great.
