so i got my first BTS last week, a nice Meruke. i posted pics in a previous post. hes doing great but i just wanted to make sure everyone thinks im doing it right. I have him in a nice 75 gallon with aspen and cage liner turf stuff. I know there can be slightly different temps for indo species so i just wanted to make sure. the cool side is around 80-83 and the basking side 95-98 under his rock. so anyway, do those temps sound right for a Merauke?

I'm impressed that you realize there is a difference between what the different species require. That puts you way ahead of most people. I think your basking spot is perfect. If there is any way to get the coolest spot a little cooler, I would do it, but if not, your merauke will be just fine.

what jeff said, another thing to do when setting up for new lizards is to offer a gradient with an area slightly cooler than care sheets say and warmer at the hot end, temp gradients are very important, then let your lizard tell you what it wants,if it spends alot of time at the heated end it may be to cool,if its in the cool end alot and lethargic add more warmth, thats what i love about giving them length in a cage,as its easier to have a good temp gradient
