shed eating?

Postby Linnea » Mon Jul 18, 2011 6:23 am

I was away for 2 days and Litchie shed. when i come back i see him in his most powerful orange colour ( ~0.5-1 day since shed ) and nearly no shed in the terrarium. so im guessing he ate it? O__O
is this a matter of concern? he is well fed i believe, a bit on the chubby side actually.....

one more problem, the usual unshed tail issue. i gave him a warm bath for 10 minutes and got some of the outer tail tip shed off, but not all of it, and i dont like the look of it, its possible i missed seeing he had some left last shed too.
is it okay to soak once more? i dont want him to get sick, but he certainly wasnt complaining about bathing as long as the water was warm.

Eating their shed is totally normal, no worries there.

I would think you'd be fine giving him a 15min warm soak everyday for a few days until you can get the stuck shed resolved. I'd also provide him with a damp hide right in the tank so he can work at it himself.
Do not go where the path may lead, go instead where there is no path and leave a trail.
