I'll take one, if you have a hard time finding good homes. I'll pay, and for the shipping. I'd probably keep Chuckie. I mean, he's like part of the furniture now you've had him so long.

Silver, Kylie's in Melbourne so they're all cheap as chips

Ah I'd love for you to get one Lisa! I only want them to go to people I know! Which one would you prefer? I'm leaning towards keeping Celeste because the tattoo on my back is of a western but I'm not sure. How do we ship them here?I've never done it before!

:woo:
I really only have the time for one more, so after lots of two-ing and fro-ing, I've narrowed it down to a Vic eastern, centralian or northern. So I'd be more than happy to take Rocky or Chucks.
...But I'm not a species snob so if you're really stuck finding a good home for any of them then Nesty or Celeste are welcome, too! I'm more into a friendly personality than a looker.

My Santos came via Rex airlines (interstate from Wagga Wagga) and I picked him up from Sydney airport. He was inside a sturdy esky type box that was sealed all over with tape but had airholes in the sides, inside that was scrunched up paper, and inside that was a calico bag, and inside that was a snoozing Santos! The box was covered in warnings such as 'live animal inside' and 'keep this way up' and 'Don't leave in the sun' etc. Here are some pics of the box that I kept for future reference in case I had to send or receive again:

Voila!! One very stoned looking, but otherwise healthy shingleback

It cost from memory about $70 to ship him, and he came 13 July last year. The guy I got him off had not fed him for a few days before, and kept him cool a couple of days prior to sending him.

There's a good article in this month's Reptiles Aust mag about shipping animals. I'll scan it and send it to you tomorrow. I think Australian Air Express are the only courier who ships reptiles too, according to Aussiepython forum discussion that I've read. There may be some other aussies on here who have done it and can give pointers.

So yeah! If the need arises, there's always a home here for one of them!
P.S. I'd need to arrange an import license, but that's only a couple of bucks, and for Rocky I'd have to upgrade my license to Cat 2 but that's just a letter to NPWS. No dramas.

When are you due? Have you made your first trip to Babyco yet?

Well I've decided not to sell any to Lisa because she lets them stay up late and party and she teaches them bad habits, not a fit lizard mum at all! Lol, just kidding of course! I'm selling all four of them to Richard. He lives in Melbourne so I wouldn't have to ship them and they would all be together which makes me feel better about selling them!

Yep, mine drink and swear and take drugs and are always in trouble with the cops

Lucky Richard but! No worries re not wanting to ship them, I find that scary too and it's good that they will all stay together.

Rich, if you breed from Rocky, then I want to be first in line for one, m'kay?

Na, because I'm having trouble finding time to look after them as it is! I'll still check the forum and stuff and I'll probably get some more one day! You can't get rid of me that easy Zoochy!

Congratulations!! :spot:

Enjoy your sleep now while you can!

I am a believer of no reptiles in a house with kids under the age of 5 if possible, but especially with a newborn. I also recommend to pregnant women (in the USA) to have your significant other change the cat litter pans to avoid toxoplasmosis. Overly cautious, maybe. But better safe than sorry.

Best wishes!
