KW, that is the most disturbing thing I have seen all week. I think we all could have lived without seeing that especially since it has no relation to skinks or the topic but simply a typo. Get your head in the game buddy this is the skink forum, not your EMO forum.

Question:
If one lives without ever shocking another, do they ever REALLY live?

Yes, unless they live for THAT purpose.

In your 15 posts and short membership that you've had here up to this writing, you've probably noticed this isn't one of those forums where people take things seriously. We're all friends here. We all razz each other about silly things and post strange things occasionally. Your notation about the thread being off topic has been recorded, thank you for your time. Otherwise, put the verbal daggers away, or your post will simply be as terrible as mine, mildly inflamitory and off-topic. Leave the policing to the moderators and administrators that have the honor of doing such duties. Please, enjoy the forum.

I like you KW :2thumbs:

I guess I know "Off Topicness is always welcome in the Weiss threads!" And perhaps you know morbidity is something I would rather not have in mine. Whether we take these into consideration is on us I reckon. :blueyboy:

If you really want your own, true thread, you can probably give Zach some money and he could give you full rights of deletion, editing, etc. Until then, they're BTS.net threads, and unfortunately, you can't control what happens in them. Especially when you aren't asking nicely.

looks like a bigger version of my baby indo... so maybe he is one too. His legs look solid dark.. which is normal for them... and he has a similar brown/green stripe pattern.. with circular spot things between his ears and front legs

I can assure you I have never been in a fight in my life and many people that know me would say that you'd be hard pressed to find a more aggreable person. I guess it's just me, but I am getting a stench of sarcasm from this guy. I try to make nice and he comes back with more. So okay okay if you say I'm being really mean to this guy here then I am sorry. Anyway I'm done with this. You all are of course free to continue.

Well everyone here is telling me IJ. To be sure I don't know. He is finally starting to settle in and he even came out of hiding the other day when I was in the room. I've named him Hyde because of this constant hiding. Also because everyone here says that his "hide" is very dark for a BTS.

Omega I'm going to look for a thread with picture of your baby indo. If you don't have any up please post some here. Thanks

Prozac: He is definitely not an Indo. Sorry if you mentioned, but did you ask around regarding his origin? I still think he may be a mix. If you can determine he is captive bred, I will almost guarantee it. If he is for sure wild caught, then he's a very 'scindoides' looking Irian Jaya. I have seen IJ that look an awful lot like Easterns/Northerns. It's just impossible to tell 100% without knowing exactly where they come from and/or seeing the parents.

Yeah, I really have no idea if he's wild caught or not. All I know is the "pet shop" owner said he was imported and he said he didn't know from where which I thought was rather odd. But I see the votes overwhelmingly have him being an IJ. So the worl may never really know.

I'm finding it difficult to figure out the horse thing - Prozac..... if it doesn't say on the bottle ... "Take 2 before Kyle" ...... see your pharmacist immediately!!!!

Back to the horse - how the hell ?????

You also don't have "mix" as a voting option. ;)

If he is imported though, he's definitely IJ. Remember though, that many believe IJ are a longstanding hybrid between Indo and Easterns/Northerns. Indo and AU were once connected so it's certainly conceivable.

There's virtually no chance an imported skink in the US would come from Australia. Our fauna export laws are so tight here, that even legally it would be nearly impossible to get a skink out.

All the Easterns, Blotched, Westerns, Northerns, Centralians, Pink Tongues and Shingles you see out in the US and other countries have been bred from skinks that were either exported before the laws changed, or brought out by special arrangement, for example for zoos or museums. I don't know if there are Pygmys outside Australia or not - they're illegal to be kept in Australia even, except by one or two people who are studying them.

The imported skinks you see in the US are the Indonesian ones - Indonesian, Tanimbar, Irian Jaya, Merauke and Kei Island. There's nothing wrong with having an Indonesian skink. They are just as great pets as Australian skinks - some enthusiasts might even argue better, depending on which breeds of BTS they prefer!

Yep. Northerns/Easterns can end up in pet stores from time to time though. But they were born here obviously.

I also think it's safe to say that any illegally imported animal wouldn't end up in a pet store!
