I need some help ... yeah that too, but I mean with sexing these two pink tongues. Any guesses/opinions appreciated...

Re: Help with Pink Tongue Sexes?
Are you housing them together? Just curious, because if you are, I would just wait until one gets fat, then has babies come out of it’s butt. That one would be the female.
If you are trying to figure out if you have a pair, I can’t help you. I would say they look like they very well could be a pair though. I can see some differences. My guess would be top - male, bottom - female.

Re: Help with Pink Tongue Sexes?
Thanks Jeff. They have been housed separately since birth until yesterday. I watched them carefully and there was no aggression but no interest either. Maybe I jumped the gun and will separate them again until #2 puts some weight back on...

Re: Help with Pink Tongue Sexes?
PT’s do well in groups though. I would suggest keeping them together. I keep almost all of my animals separate too, but the few that do well in groups are awesome. Watching how communal species interact with each other is a real treat. I think you may be missing out by keeping your pink tongues separately.

Can you post some pictures of their heads, from above and from side on.

Re: Help with Pink Tongue Sexes?
My first thought was two males. In my experience, it is the males that retain the dark banding into adulthood but this is also based on head and body size/shape.
However, it might be worth looking at some more pics. If one is a female, I'd say the top one, just because I can't quite see the head from above.
Mark.

Can't help with the sexing but I've only ever seen them in groups in the wild.

Re: Help with Pink Tongue Sexes?
Update: Top one is definitely male. I can tell from the sperm plugs he left on my hand this morning
Strongly believe the bottom one is female.
They are now housed together and doing well.

Re: Help with Pink Tongue Sexes?
Keep us updated and post some more pictures! I've been interested in these guys for a while. They are crepuscular (sp?) correct? Are they very shy when you interact with them?
A friend of mine who breeds mostly New Caledonian and Leaf Tail geckos has a pair, but they have not had any luck with their pink tongues unfortunately. They breed, but last I heard they have only seen slugs.

Re: Help with Pink Tongue Sexes?
This is my newest pink tongue. It's a yearling and appears to be going patternless. That's what made me snap it up when I saw it for sale!
