BLUE TONGUE SKINKS

Anyone know where I could get some Victorian (nicely patterned) E.whitii?

I used to keep some and regret letting them go.

I did get onto someone in NSW some time ago but exobitant price and poor markings (NSW form) with lots of beuracracy to get them, so wasnt going to happen.

I found they were very funny to watch because they would squabble over who had the lookout position, the others would watch the one on lookout by sticking their heads out of the substrate and when he moved take up his spot on a rock, only to be chased off again.

No, indoors in a tank. Pretty basic setup with course sand, some rocks and Euc leaves, but they thrived and bred like rabbits. I fed them the same as the blueys with some inverts thrown in. Gave me a use for all of the daddy longlegs around the house. :-) Unlike the blueys though I found that they would eat during winter if they were warmed at all. So best to let them ride out say June/July without any heat and started mating pretty much a week or so after waking them. Overpopulated very quickly.

being so small,small surface area,they easily heat up,plus ultra cold hardy

dare say they would be a fun display animal,i like the small/med skinks

Yeh their care requirements are pretty much identical, I had the same problem with water skinks (overpopulation) - back in the old days I let some go in my garden, they bred up around small fish pond (some drowned) and spread to some of the neighbouring yards. And someone who shall remain nameless let a population of them go at LaTrobe Uni in the lagoons in the grounds - they may still be there. The EWS are smarter and more agile than Whites, also their babies are more robust and can have good hiding strategies to help them survive having cats around.

White's are sort of like the good looking dumb cousin.

Unfortunately, never sen them available here.

What do they look like? I don't think I ever heard of any in the states or in Europe.
