Suspected Gravid skink excreting yellow gelatin-like fluid?

I posted something similar a couple days ago, today Calypso excreted an even larger amount of yellow gelatin-like fluid (about a quarter sized amount) I found a passage in the Bluey-bible that stated that infertile eggs can be excreted as solid or aqueous? Has anyone had a gravid skink excrete something like this prior to delivering babies? We are now on day 112 since last mating session. I am getting anxious for her as she hasn't eaten since 3/19. Still acting the same; breathing heavy, not eating, basking 24/7.

I had one female expell several unfertilized ova (yellow jelly sacs) last year. They looked similar but no liquid. She passed several over many days, seeming extremely uncomfortable. No live babies fron her, but I'm told they can have both in a year.

They can definitely have slugs and live babies in the same season. I have never noticed anything that looked like your pictures, but if it is the remains of a slug, it doesn't really increase or decrease the odds of babies. It is not uncommon to have both slugs and babies, and it is also not uncommon for a female to have nothing but slugs.

Thanks everyone! Still waiting here

The last couple days she has continued to expel a little liquid and a small yellow/jelly-like substance (very small, pea sized) no more big ones. At least I know she is drinking water. She is still looking very large, especially towards the back end. The waiting is awful

not sure I will do this again, I think I am too anxious a person for this. I just imagine every worst case scenario.

Is the fluid secreted a little like what we'd see in the amniotic loss in mammals, i.e. the waters breaking or do skinks not exhibit these similarities during foetal development. Do they have the amniotic sacs form, being vivaporous or is is absent?

Thanks, Richard. After a little research I found out that they do possess an amnion, filled with the protein rich amniotic fluid which would be akin to the "white" of an egg in an egg bearing animal. The yolk sac is still present, being more obvious at birth, where it would have been more or less absorbed before most live bearing births, whereas due to the high numbers of young produced in blue tongues, the presence of the amniotic fluid is not always noticeable, because it's reduced in volume in the smaller peritoneal space.

This is not a very good video, but it shows right at the beginning what Richard is talking about.

thanks jeff, thats exactly what i was saying
stacy a while back,my suspected gravid centralian would try and push something out,i was hoping a baby but each time i saw it it was a bit of clear liquid and that yellow goop you showed in your pic, though a bit smaller in size, biggest being pea sized, the clear liquid as well was never alot, maybe leaving sn inch to inch and a half circle wet patch on the newspaper substrate, shes still quite solid but has dropped down in weight a touch, but feel its to late now that shes carrying anything presently, she doesnt appear to have dropped enough weight to have had slugs, though shes a solid lass normally, but still isnt overly interested in food,a pick at it here and there so yeah, gawd knows, lol
any progress on your female

Still waiting. Not really sure if anything is going to happen? She still looks large, is still basking most of the time, and still not eating? She is at day 127 from last day of mating. The only change I have noted is she isn't breathing as heavy, not normal breathing, just not as heavy as 2-3 weeks ago. At this point I am just concerned about the not eating, I just want her to be healthy and ok? She is still drinking and seems alert, but I am hoping she eats something soon!

Eating is really one of the last things I worry about when they are gravid. This year, most of my females have eaten very little through out their pregnancies. Usually, some eat normally and some don't eat much. They all seem to eat nothing at all for at least one 30 day period. That 30 day fast usually starts right after mating, but I have seen it at all different points of the pregnancy.
I think we naturally expect them to handle it like mammals would, and they just don't. You are getting to the outside of a typical gestation period, so something should happen very soon. Hard to say what that will be though. She could have babies, or just pass some slugs. If she has slugs and decides to eat them though you will never know for sure unless you see it happen. She will get back to normal proportions afterward though.
If the stuff you have been seeing come out of her is truly liquified ova, it could be decreasing the pressure inside of her which would explain her breathing getting a bit less heavy.

the not eating still suggests shes still carrying, after slugs/babies they drop a fair wack of weight and become very keen to eat as a rule, you stopped mating after 4 goes if memory serves me correctly,so ovulation could have come a fair bit later than when u paired them making gestation seem long, mine have gone close to 150 days after first matings but mating over a 6 week period, ive also seen breathing subside before actual birthing to,so dont give up just yet, thats generally when they suprise you,lol
