Trip to south Florida

Hi all, and happy and healthy new year. Just returned from my annual trip to Florida to spend the holidays with family, and as my luck would have it, the weather was unusually hot for December. Being about 10-15 degrees warmer than usual, I got to see a few things I usually do not in winter. I'll never get over the cool factor of living somewhere that everywhere you look there is a reptile....aaaaah, some day...
Sorry for poor quality of photos but some are exploded screen shots, couldn't get anywhere near the iguana. I guess they love the heat as much as I do, gives them energy too!

You get used to the anoles and geckos everywhere after a while. I have quite a few wild geckos running around the house catching all those pesky escapee crickets....

What area did you visit?

I was in Delray beach, not rural by any means. Usually see the familiar anoles and house geckos, but this year was exceptionally warm in December and was so happy to see my first iguana. It was in a fenced in area with a little lake or reservoir adjacent to a supermarket parking lot and golf course on the other side. I was always upset because everyone but me has seen iguanas for years. A coworker just returned from key west and showed me pics of the iguanas he saw, you could walk right up to them. I'd love to have a backyard full of them, they are my second favorite lizard (you all know the first). Just wish they didn't require so much space!
