BLUE TONGUE SKINKS

Hi, I have a ball python and it has these kinks in the side of him. I have seen this a while ago but I thought it was just because he was in shed. Now that he is out of shed he has these kinks and bumps. They are hard to catch on camera. I have had other ball pythons, but I got them when they were an adults. So I am not sure if he is just growing. He also acts normal loves to come out at night and play . The only thing is he has not grown that much since I got him and that was a year ago. Could it be that he is a runt? One last thing I do provide a calcium D3 every month so then he gets D3 and has healthy bones.

What colour morph is he? Some are known to get kinking

If his mother had MBD (more common in over bred females) then she may not have deposited enough calcium in the eggs and the hatchlings can be born with issues

Cold shock to eggs are a known cause of skeletal deformities

Sometimes defects just happen for no known reason

He is a spot nose ball python. There were a lot of babies from that clutch. Is there anything I can do for deformities ?

I think I may have figured out why he has kinks in him. So I went into one of my reptile books and it said it is possible that it was inbred so that may cause kinking.
