BLUE TONGUE SKINKS

Hi guys, I would like to go herping in central Florida, I'd like to flip over logs etc. There are only 4 venemous snakes around here, they are diamondback, pigmy rattler, Coral snake and water moccasin. What's the safest way to flip wood? Will a collapsible snake hook work? Thanks for the replies.

Not in my experience. You mean like the ones at Petco? Those are very, very poorly made snake hooks. We bought one to try and it broke the same day used.

you would want a field hook. make sure to put back anything you flip, disturbing /lifting stone is against "regulations" in some states as you are disturbing habitat. Make sure that every rock is lifted carefully and placed back in the exact same position without smashing anything. same deal with logs. loose debris and wood / metal is all fair game.
