New to the Blue Tongue Skinks forum
Hi Everyone My name is Angela, I am new to owning reptiles. Last weekend I went to my local reptile specialist shop, and bought a reptile enclosure, heat and UV lamps, substrate, food bowls and a hide, and of course my baby Blue Tongue Lizard! She, along with her brothers and sisters were only 2 weeks old last weekend, so I needed to wait a week before I could take her home so that the shop owners could make sure that they were all eating properly. Yesterday I went back to the store, and took her home! She is quite small, but is very independent and enjoys being handed. I haven't seen her eat anything as yet, so I am hoping that once she settles in she'll start to feel more comfortable to eat. I have also read through the care sheet, and found so much helpful information on it! Anyway, just wanted to introduce myself and say hi

Welcome, I am kind of new here myself.
Do you perhaps have any pictures? I love very young skinks, I find their disproportionate heads and serious facial expressions really cute.

Thanks! They are so adorable when they are babies and Bindi always puts on a serious face, especially when it's breakfast time! I have attached some pictures of her. Also, the blue mark on her head and tail is from the reptile store marking her so that I knew which one I picked out last week

Cuteness overload ..... Lots of snuggles and Hooman exploration expeditions are in order.
Brings back memories of George and Mildred (my two easterns where I bought them from the breeder and brought them home as babies/juveniles.
My two as babies way back in 2010.
Mildred
George
A favourate place to have a nap for both George and Mildred was my vest pocket , or under my shirt , or inside the sleeve of my fleecy hoody.
Too big to fit in the pocket now , but still both a long snuggle and love being under my shirt or under my baggy fleecy hoody's long sleeve.
Enjoy her while she's little .... they don't stay little for very long.
Take LOTS of photos of your baby and record how she develops and grows and of her advertures ..... and print them .... I wish I had , the portable harddrive I kept my photos of George & Mildred and Lucky (the Water Skink) on died and I lost thousands of photos (memories).
I now keep my photos as prints and also digitally on more than one computer and two portable HDDs. Wont ever get caught out again when a backup or hdd dies.

Thank you! When I was first looking into getting a Blue Tongue Skink, I didn't realise just how small they are when they're babies, and how large they get when they're adults!

Wow! The photos of your little baby Blue Tongues are super adorable! I have been taking heaps of photos, and will be printing the majority of them out soon (when I get some more photo printer paper) I'm sorry to hear about what happened to your photos on the harddrive At the moment I'm working on getting Bindi used to me, and so far it seems to be working - she's a lot less huffy than she was when I first got her
