Bioactive Vivarium
I am a first time reptile owner and I have decided to go with a skink. I have never owned a reptile however I am a good amount knowledgeable. Anyways I would like to create a bioactive AUSTRALIAN blue tongue skink vivarium. I stress Australian skink because I have found a multitude of information on red eyed crocodile skinks and Indonesian skink bioactive vivariums. There is quite a difference Australian skinks definitely have a considerable amount less of humidity. What substrate, plants, cleaning crew, and wood would you reccomend. I would also like input if in your opinion a regular non bioactive vivarium would be better due to them being a larger reptile. Thanks!

Re: Bioactive Vivarium
I'd keep the bio vivs to the dart frogs and anoles. Live plants would be dug up and possibly ingested, and just about everything you put in there will be moved around, uprooted and destroyed. They are like little bulldozers. They spend a fair amount of time hiding and a bio tank would not benefit them at all. Would most likely do more harm than good.
