Stuck Skink
I come home from the store and this is what I find...
It looked like he was thinking that he shouldn't have had that second pinky for dinner, but he was truly stuck. His feet were wedged up next to his mouth and he couldn't wiggle through. It took a couple mintues to get him out but he is out and walking around no problem. The cactus will not be going back into his house....my uromastyx can now enjoy it. Silly skink.

Oh nooo!! I panicked a little before I read the last part.. wondering how in the heck would you saw him out of that, if you had to?
I'm glad he's out and he's okay... what a relief!
Not too long ago, one of my critters thought he could squeeze through the holes in the laundry basket that he was playing in... head first.. front paws... okay.....
..belly? yes... hips? NOOO!!! He was stuck so good.. couldn't get him out the way he went in either (belly was not as pliable in reverse) so I had to chop up the laundry basket.

I know I shouldn't laugh ... but That's hilarious!
My Jubby got stuck in a miniature bike while cruising the house. These are stills from a 10sec video. It was not long after he woke from brumation last year, I think he forgot how big he was! That or he needs lessons in how to ride a bike

I think skinks like those tight places but have trouble judging if they'll fit. Back in his pudgy days, Gargy got stuck in one of the props during a photo shoot.
On a more serious note, didn't somebody have a skink that died because it got stuck in something?

I am really glad these fellas are still around to laugh about their adventures and mishaps.. sad about the skull victim, though.
I'm still decorating the Bluey Nursery... so is a 4" opening big enough? I really don't want any mishaps that I can avoid easily.
Thanks!

I have to say guys, this thread has been reassuring. Only this morning I found my IJ Latch completely stuck, haging sideways, through a hole in a branch in his cage.
He had completely given up fighting, and was just lying there (it's his way with anything he doesn't like, he plays dead...freaked the hell outta the vet when he was a newborn and lying in a little box looking like someone had turned him off)
Of course, when I see him acting that way I know it also means it's generally time to panic, after much coaxing, squeezing, and eventually lifting up the branch and shaking (gently) he managed to come out with a couple missing scales and a couple others torn up.
I immediately took him out of the tank and put him somewhere I could see him walk and move around clearly to make sure nothing was broken, and he just sat there and looked at me like...."WHAT?"
He's back to normal now, I'm running off to the store to get some neosporin to put on his damaged scales...and of course the branch is in now in pieces in the alley.
But it did scare the hell out of me, I'm lucky I had the day off or he would've been stuck like that for about 9 hours and who knows how different things could've turned out.
