Hello
I bought my first BTS from our local pet shop 3 weeks ago.
The guy at the pet shop said that this one is from Indonesia.
I have been looking pictures in this forum(& other pictures on Internet) to determine which specie my BTS is, and wondering if it's Merauke.
Would you please give me some advise?
Is my BTS Merauke?

Looks very much like a Halmahera to me. To confirm, you can check the belly scales if you're able to. If it's mainly black with some speckled pinks (like in the following pic of our guy) then it's a Halmahera. You'll need to maintain a very high humidity (90% on average).

New bts from Indonesia are most likely Halmahera because so far this is the only species commonly traded between conservation groups.

Re: Is my BTS Merauke?
Thank you very much for your information.
So most likely my BTS is Halmahera.
I checked the belly scales and it's like striped blak and pink rather than speckled.
I tried to take the photo of his(her) belly, but didn't work out well.
I will try again next time.

THank you for your advise about humidity.
I have been spraying water in the terrarium everyday now to keep high humidity.
