Adult shedding
I have a 4 year old skink who I've had for about a month and he's on a steady diet and has high humidity + heat, but lately for the past few days he's been sleeping in his burrow very late( today being 4 in the afternoon). I thought maybe he was getting ready to shed but he hasn't shown any signs of a shed. I'm wondering if he still sheds at his age and he's just still preparing, or there's another reason he's been sleeping in late.

Re: Adult shedding
Skinks shed throughout their life, just less when they’re older, so it could be he’s preparing to shed. I’ve not had mine for long, about a month too, and he’s a baby so has shed twice and he definitely burrows more when he’s getting ready to shed. He’s normally out most of the time when the lights are on but when he’s getting ready to shed he spends most of his time either completely buried or with his head poking out. If he’s still acting like himself apart from the burrowing then I’d wait and see if he sheds
