Baby northerns born 5/15/18
Had 5 healthy and feisty baby northerns born the other day. My favorite time of year. Nothing beats opening up a enclosure and hearing the scurrying of babies lol.

Ahhh they are so cute! When they are so little, any idea how long they are from head to tail? As only seen posts about sizes from a few weeks old, could be cool to know the difference from ones so recently born

they are just over 3 inches and weighed between 14-18 grams. They are a week old now and a couple have doubled their weight already.kayla990 wrote:Ahhh they are so cute! Thanks! That's great to know, good reference point ^__^ I was told ours was at 2 months old when we got him, but was doubtful since he was only 6 inches and around 50g.
Hope they will all grow well (and goodluck for you too splashy, fingers crossed you'll get them soon!).

Those that are growing faster than their smaller siblings should be separated , this will give the smaller ones a better chance and better access to food, water, basking and best places to nap, so they will grow faster too.

Good point with variances of growth rate! I presume that Bluey's growth would also be influenced on the type of diet. For example, I know other reptiles (such as geckos) will grow substantially faster when fed on insects compared to pre-made food, such as repashy powders
