Skink's palm is swollen

Postby Keytal » Wed Oct 04, 2017 9:57 am

One day I got home and checked on one of my bluetongues and noticed that one of her palms is pretty swollen. I took a closer look and I noticed a small scar on her palm. It was not deep it rather looks like a bit of skin-off.
I noticed she digs alot, I use reptibark, cocofiber and topsoil's mixture.

I am not experienced with bluetongues so I'd thought I ask about what I should do.

Made a few pics as well:

The animal is active and eating not letargic at all. Any idea what I could / have to do?

Thanks in advance!

Looks likely to be an infection which can lead to septicemia, really the only way to treat is with antibiotics - you should see a vet about it.

I to would suggest a vet visit. Definitely don't want it to get any worse. Good luck and let is know how it turns out.

Thank you very much for the reply. I made an appointment for this weekend however the palm is getting better now ... this morning it was only the half the size, hope it will be alright one way or the other. Better if I don't have to transport the animal but if it has to be done then I will do it ofc. :)
