hi everyone! so I just got another blue tongue skink and this time i really am confused because i'd like to say its a gigas gigas but he has some merauke band color. his head and tail are similar color to the axanthic blue tongue skink. this is a picture of him and i will try to get some more photos tomorrow

I'm no expert, but it looks gigas gigas to me.
I see what you mean about the tail. It looks like it was dipped in "axanthic."
That's a great looking skink regardless and I'm glad you got him!

Interesting.
Great looking for sure!
How did you find out it was het axanthic?
Were there any axanthics or any other morphs/different looking animals where you got that one?

Re: please help identify
i am very sorry i just went to a trip and haven't check this site for a while, and yes there is a particular store in Indonesia that even has an axanthic morph but that's all it is nothing compared to the us where you can find a jet black blue tongue skink (hyper melanistic? i guess?) and even an albino and i havent encountered an albino blue tongue skink because a very few people would buy a blue tongue because they are skeptical about it (although they are native here) and would willingly choose another pet rather than a blue tongue. But i just sees it differently because this animal is basically a dog in a sausage like body making silly faces every single day while flicking their tongue

if i ever visit that store again i will surely took a snap. However, lately the bts is listed in the appendix (which means you cannot keep it as pet due to conservation) i dont know if the request will stay the same or people would switch back to iguana or a beardie. And yes, even when they are captive breed we still get fined for it

I went to an expo here in Australia last year and was lucky enough to see the guy that breeds those and his skinks. They were so interesting to see close up for real! Not that expensive either really, from memory they were about $400.
