This is my new fat baby skink! It's name is Roanoke.
I'm hand taming the little beast and nothing motivates a skink more than food! I pull the brat out of the cage and feed it only when it's in my hands. Needless to say, taming is coming along swell.

Re: Post Pictures of Your Skinks: Part II
hey everyone! i just brought my first ever bluey home today. he was nice enough to pose for me before scuttling off to explore his new home...
his name's ludwig, he's about ten inches long at the moment (described as a grown on baby) and i believe he's an IJ - not 100% on my IDing skills though.

Hi All,
it commonly known Blues love snails. Our Steve (Intermedia male) is not exemption. If we want lure him from his hiding (cork tube) the snail is right way how to do it in an elegant way. See video with Steve having festive lunch. Snails are not available each day

Grendel, our female Northern BTS sunning herself on her slate. She has finally mellowed a bit and is allowing us to handle her without too much fussing. She is 11 months old and 327gr.

Hi this is our new btl that arrived today. Blue Smoo.
I have been reading all your posts in prepperation.
Can anyone I.D the species for me.
It also has this wierd flat dip in its body just above the back legs. Is this normal? Does anyone know why it can happen?

As you are located in New Zealand my guess would be that yours is an Eastern.
The dip does look to be fairly severe, it wouldn't be a bad idea to have a vet do a scan to make sure you're not dealing with MBD.
And do feel free to start your own thread to keep us updated on how you are doing with Smoo.
