Similarity to halmahera?

I've been looking at all the pics of the recent beautiful halmaheras people have been posting and I got curious about my Duma. While he looks mostly merauke, I always thought his stripes were different. From his top half, he looks like regular merauke. But the bottom part of him looks a little halmahera to me, the stripes turn black and thicker closer to his stomach. Do meraukes get striping like this or could he possibly be a merauke x halmahera?

Naah thats a merauke,bluetongues can vary in how there patterning is,even from a single litter

Keep in mind Meraukes and Halmaheras are the same species, Tiliqua gigas; there is bound to be similarities. I would say yours is about as pure as they get. From what I've seen of suspected Halmahera x Merauke, they look mostly Halmahera with less black on tail, belly, arms, etc.

Like Dakota said, Meraukes are a subspecies of Indonesians, so there will be some similarities, but Duma is a very clean looking Merauke --looks like it could've been produced by me

Ahh ok! I have only seen one other merauke in person, it was at a pet shop and almost identical to Tequilo (but older/bigger at that time). So I guess I kind of thought Tequilo was more what the meraukes should look like. The more Duma grows, the more his thicker banding toward the bottom shows. I think it's quite striking and was curious about it. I got Duma from a show, from Underground.
