Living World shavings?
Hello! I've just gotten my first blue tongue, Merlin, and I had some questions about substrate. He came with reptile carpet, but I'd like to switch it, as he seems to love burrowing, and keeps trying to burrow under it, but you can't do that with reptile carpet.
I want to use aspen shavings, (and I saw in the substrate FAQ that it was a good one) and the brand I've found is Living World Aspen Shavings. Has anyone had good/bad experiences with this stuff? Thanks very much!

Unfortunately, I am not familiar with Easterns. I will leave it to the experts to chime in and see what they say. Sorry I can't help.

I used to use aspen with my northerns and easterns, found it to be a bit too dry, even though it is said that they can tolerate dryness...switched over to repti-bark and no more shedding issues. How about a picture??? I've recently developed an addiction to Easterns....I've got 5!

Thank you! And 5 easterns? Just out of curiosity, what are their names? I had the hardest time picking Merlins name.

Re: Living World shavings?
I use aspen for my northens, eastens and rugosa rugosa, rugosa aspera and egernia s and have for mange years (15-20) I also use it for baby skinks after their first 2-3 weeks on papertowels and I don't see more bad sheds than when I was keeping them on soil or sand many years ago
