Quail eggs?

I see many people feeding raw eggs to their skinks when they are adults as a treat, shells and all.

I was curious if anyone has ever fed quail eggs as is, as a treat since they are much smaller and easier to manage? (and I have heard healthier then chicken eggs)

I dunno if this is an isolated incident but a while back I fed one of my animals a quail egg, he attacked it eagerly enough that I think he might have nearly aspirated some...because for the next 10 minutes or so he was making loud hacking and gagging noises and appeared to be quite uncomfortable. Said animal is still alive a year later but I havent fed an egg since due to the scare.

I've fed Coomassie quail eggs on multiple occasions. I love them because a feel like a chicken egg is way too big for him. I have to break the egg shell open for him but he happily eats whats inside.
