Halmahera Puberty and My Guess at Sex

Excuse Riley, he is literally in the process of shedding, but his hemipenial bulges just keep getting bigger and bigger lately! I remember back when Maxx was reaching puberty, he swelled really big out of season, as well.



Both Maxx and Riley came to me (and yes, both VERY small) with little tiny "BB"-like protrusions just below the cloaca, and they happen to turn out both male (just as I assumed)! Now Alice doesn't have these "BB"'s, so I am pretty sure she is female. If she does indeed not "grow a pair", and keeps looking female, I may have unlocked the baby gigas (gigas) sexing method. Her mate Diana had with Alice did have these "BB"-like bulges, so I am thinking he is male, but we shall find out once his new owner sees any development of the bulges.



Just thought this was thread worthy, thank you for reading and looking at my skinks' "nasties"!

I wish I would have known to look. I was going to see if the baby Meraukes from Virginia did, but my luck no babies from her. I asked Susann, and I believe she said they didn't really have a difference.

Yeah, I noticed when my first two were neonates. Get some pictures while you're at it!
