He Ate the Fuzzy!
Today was the first time I fed a fuzzy mouse to my Indo, which you may already know is a very finicky eater. Anyway, he attacked the fuzzy like a rabid dog. He's been eating some crickets also lately although I think he still prefer salad over cricket because he won't eat that many crickets but I try giving it to him as often as possible since he needs his protein. He doesn't seem to like cat food that much. Well, I'm not worry if he doesn't like cat food anymore since he will eat fuzzies and crickets now. Now I'm gonna try some cooked chicken. Hope he likes it....
Also he won't eat if I hand feed him with tweezers. He seems afraid. The way I feed him is to drop the crickets and fuzzy mouse in plain sight of him so he will go after it. If I get too close he usually will not eat. Does anyone have this problem?

Fuzzies may be high in fat, But for some reason everytime i've fed fuzzies or pinkies to my blueys - they never put weight on.
They do however take massive dumps.

No, my camera is broken. I know it sucks. He really love his fuzzy though. I only gave one and the rest were crickets. He really loves to chase live prey for some reason, so I gave him a live fuzzy. He chased it all over the tank. One time he got a hold of it and somehow it broke free and was running like mad trying to get it. I guess next time I could a frozen one since it's more humane that way.

Keep trying other forms of protein as crickets have very little nutritional value and fuzzies are high in fat... maybe try silkworms, roaches, hornworms, dew worms, snails, chicken (like you said) etc.
Nah, the fuzzy is probably ten times better than cat food. I hear cat food is really fattening and my guy gets cat food, although he's not particularly fond of it. Just like any other food, moderation is the key. My doctor tells me whether you are on diet because of health issue or trying to loose some weight, it doesn't mean you can't have any candies, cakes, cookies, or other sweets. It just mean that you have to eat fewer serving of them. Just like any other food they are fine in moderation. I think fuzzies will be good to feed him as part of a varied diet.

I guess its just in the skink. I thought my guy would love the opportunity to go after some real live mice, but he prefers roaches and snails.
Humans are like slinkies. Practically useless... but still fun to push down the stairs.

if you wanna feed fuzzies and pinkies, feed dead one - and if they don't eat it - pierce the head and gently squueze so the brain juice comes out. this stuff is tasty! Your blueys eyes will glaze over and he'll become a mouse eating machine!

I never thought I can get so happy about my bluey eating. Now I don't have to feed him live ones.
