Voeltzkowia fierinensis

Postby Ophidiophile » Sun Mar 15, 2015 6:58 am

Here's a not-so-great photo of one of the craziest animals at Hamm yesterday - Voeltzkowia fierinensis. This is a Madagascan skink with no eyes, no external ears, no front legs, but two tiny back legs. The seller had 3 or 4 CB babies and they were relatively cheap. Had I arranged in advance for a way to get them back to the US, I probably would have bought them!

Blow the photo up to full size and try to find the back leg in the photo!

That is awesome. It is always great to see people work with the obscure species.
