Brumation and breeding

Postby Busterboy » Mon Dec 31, 2012 9:57 am

I'd like to know some Blue-Tongued Skink owners and breeders.

What species of Blue-Tongues do you have?

Have you bred and had babies?
I'm just getting into breeding.

Brumation successful?

I'm not sure what you mean by "Brumation successful?" If the skink lives through brumation, I would consider it a successful brumation. :noknow:

Why are you getting into breeding if I may ask? I'm breeding BTS for the first time right now :)
I have several different species, Merauke, Indo, and 3 northerns. Its my 2 Northerns I'm pairing right now.

They either brumate or they dont, it varies from skink to skink and location to location if, when, and how long it will last. You can be successful with or without brumation. There are some great breeding threads on here right now that could answer some of these questions.
